HSEB Affiliates 22 Higher Secondary Schools

HNS, Kathmandu, June 24: The Higher Secondary Education Board has decided to grant affiliation to 22 new higher secondary schools (HSS).HSEB Vice Chairman Chaitanya Sharma said it the apex body to regulate higher secondary education in the country has enlisted 22 new HSS from across the country.

If they are granted affiliation, they can start classes from this academic session. “A decision to grant affiliation to these higher secondary schools was taken at the recommendation of the Department of Education and Affiliation Committee,” he said. Sharma stated that HSS which had sought affiliation in 2012 and 2013 have been listed for the new affiliation. “We have given the green signal to HSS which were listed for the affiliation by former HSEB officials,” he added.According to Sharma, out of 22 higher secondary schools that are going to get affiliation, 15 are private higher secondary schools and seven are public higher secondary schools. Five higher secondary schools are from Kathmandu and one is from Bhaktapur.Recently, the HSEB had decided to scrap registration of 71 HSS and Plus Two colleges for not conducting academic activities for the three consecutive years.Sharma also said that the HSEB would monitor higher secondary schools whether they are complying with HSEB Code of Conduct and government rules and regulations.
